When we tucked Ava in to bed last night, she was asking why there was so much popping outside (We live in Puyallup, fireworks are legal here and people don't seem to want to wait until 12AM). We told her that tomorrow was New Years Day and people were celebrating early. It took her quite awhile to fall asleep, with countless number of Mommy and Daddy visits back to her room to explain the fireworks.
After we put the kids to bed, we plopped down on the couch and watched 'War horse'. What an incredible movie!! We quickly passed out just moments after it ended and awoke at 11:59pm to explosions happening outside. We hurried and headed out to the back steps to watch the fireworks... and of course....make out. Haha! Talk about the best wake up call ever.... fireworks and making out! YES!!!!!
When Ava woke up this morning she was adamant that we were having a celebration today!! She kept asking who was coming over (Grandma, Aunt Na, Jessica, Uncle Chad?!) to celebrate. We told her we were going to have our own family party this evening to celebrate the Birthday of the Earth. I think next year, we will keep her up until Midnight on New Years Eve!! We made brownies with sprinkles and sang Happy Birthday to the earth after dinner. :)
Here is a peek at our New Years day...
A picture of the sun peeking in through our kitchen window this morning. It was so pretty!!!!

Ava decorated the bowls with shiny stickers. She was so excited!!!
