Updates!

Hi! Getting to blogging is a little harder now! I usually only have time after Ava goes to bed, and by that time I am anxious to go to bed myself so I can get some sleep before Reese needs to eat again.

Rafael went back to work last Thursday. :( It was so sad for us! When Ava woke up, we went upstairs to get Reese. As soon as Ava stood on her toes to see in the bed she said "Where is Daddy?". We got really used to having him home while he was here all the time for 3 weeks! It was soooo nice. I miss him so much when he is gone.

Everything has been going great! Reese is so sweet. I just love her soooo much. She is such a good baby. She makes things pretty easy on us. She sleeps a ton. I took her to the doctor last Thursday because I suspected she had Thrush. I could see the white spots in her mouth. It turns out she had it, so now we are giving her some oral medication that we have to rub around her mouth for a few weeks until it goes away. It hasn't caused any problems with breastfeeding so that is good! It is starting to go away now. She doesn't seem phased by it at all. She is doing really well with the medicine too! She just lets me do it with no complaints! Yay!!

Ava is such a good big sister to her. I love watching Ava baby her little sister. When Reese wakes up, Ava always comes over and looks at her and says "Awwww she is so precious"... lol!!
Ava cracks me up. She is so smart. I love this age! It is so nice to be able to hold a conversation with her! Tonight I was laying in her bed before bed time. Both of our heads were on her pillow. I started to sing 'you are my sunshine'. After a few words in, she turned her head and looked at me and said "No, that is kinda boring". I said "ok, let's do another one." I started to sing 'itsy bitsy spider' and she said "No, that one is kinda boring too." Lol!! She cracks me up. She finally settled for the 'I caught a baby bumblebee' song. At least she is being honest!
My favorite Ava words are Strawberry (Strawbruary) pronounced like February with a straw... and Remote (Mamote). Other than those two words, she pronounces everything else very well!! :) I am going to hold on to my strawbruary and mamote as long as I can because the days of baby talk are going away... :(

2 weeks old!

Ok, almost 3 weeks now, but Reese had her 2 week check-up last Friday! She weighed in at 8 lbs 14 oz! Woah!! She has grown an inch and a half taller too! They said she was supposed to have at least made it back up to her birth weight by two weeks, but Reese is almost a pound more than that. We were not too surprised though. She eats like CRAZY all the time! The doc said we didn't need to wake her up to feed her anymore....lol.

Reese is still a pretty sleepy baby. It has made things a lot easier for us! She grunts and squeaks a lot while she is sleeping, so that makes nights a little restless for Rafael and I. We are still managing to get the rest we need though! :)
Reese doesn't cry when you change her diaper anymore, and tonight she had a bath without crying!! YAY!!! It seems like she is getting a little more used to being naked.
I swear we have got a few smiles out of her, but who knows. It could just be gas smiles. :)

Ava is enjoying her little sister so much! She asks where she is all the time if she can't see her, or if they are not in the same room. The other night I was laying in bed with Ava singing songs before her bedtime. Reese started crying from the living room and Ava called out "It's ok baby, I'm coming!!!" Awwww!!! :) She is such a sweet and gentle big sister.
Rafael and I were cooking dinner a few nights ago and Reese and Ava were hanging out in the living room. Reese would start to cry and Ava would totally stop what she was doing and go over and put the binky in Reese's mouth, then go back to what she was doing. Then a few minutes later Reese would cry again and Ava would go put the binky back in her mouth. It made us laugh. :) It seems like we already have a babysitter! Hehe.

Reese was totally passed out and limp on my shoulder. I love how her arm is just hanging there.

Hi!!
Here are some more pictures! Reese has been spending a little more time awake the last few days. She still sleeps a TON though!
We went to Seattle today to see some of our old coworkers. it was so fun to see everyone and catch up a bit. Ava had a great time running around the office getting into everything. Reese.... slept. :)
Reese's 2 week check-up is tomorrow morning! We are really excited to see how much she has grown. She eats a lot. If she isn't sleeping, she is eating. She has such a cute little round tummy!

Pictures!!! :)

Finally!! It has taken me so long to get these on here! We have been very busy!
It is SOOO nice to have Raf home. He took 3 weeks off work. I was so concerned about Ava feeling like she wasn't getting enough attention, so this is really nice to have us both home.

We are are having so much fun with Ava and Reese! It is so funny how different having a second child is! When Ava was a baby, we spent all of our time worrying that we were doing everything right and being scared that we didn't know what we are doing. With Reese it has been so much more laid back. We are seasoned pro's! Hehe. It has been nice to just be able to enjoy her without all the fears that being a new parent brings!

Reese eats like a champ. That has been a big relief! She took to breastfeeding right away at the hospital and I haven't had any problems since. I struggled so much with breastfeeding Ava. I was worried it was going to happen the same way again!

Poor Reese caught her first cold when she was 4 days old! The day after we got home from the hospital, Ava woke up with a cold. It has been a pretty nasty one! Ava had a fever and her nose is still running a week and a half later! Luckily, Reese has only some mild congestion. It hasn't affected her being able to eat or anything. Wooohoo!

Reese is such a sleepy baby. She decided just a few days ago that maybe she should open her eyes a little more and check out the world she is in. She is so cute! We are having so much fun!

Ava LOVES her little sister. It is the sweetest thing! She is always asking to hold her. She helps me change Reese's diapers. She will help wipe and put ointment on. A few days ago I was setting up Ava's old play gym for Reese. Ava recognized a stuffed bee that was part of the gym. Ava said "That is my bee!" I told her "yes, that's your bee" and took it off to give it to her. When I handed it to her she said "No, little sister have it". I almost cried!! I was so proud of Ava! I am always finding Ava's toys laying on or around Reese. We got Ava a stuffed kitty she really wanted last weekend. She wouldn't let go of it all day. That night I went into the kitchen and when I came back Ava's kitty was sitting on top of Reese in the swing. I am so happy that Ava is already sharing with her sister!

Tonight at dinner Reese was in the swing. She started to fuss a little and Ava said "Me help her". I got Ava down and she went over and put the binky in Reese's mouth and leaned over and kissed her head. AWWWW!!! :)

She asks almost every night for Reese to go to bed with her. Every morning when we go in to get Ava she asks where her little sister is. I love it!!!
The transition has gone very well for Ava. I am so happy! I was so concerned about that!

We have taken advantage of Daddy being home! We have gone out and about almost every single day it seems!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the last week and a half. We are so in love with our girls!! :)
