I am proud to announce that Ava pooped last Sunday, Wednesday and today! It seems the veggies, karo syrup, and suppository she got today worked! We have a followup with the gastroenterologist in 3 weeks. We continue this regime until then.... :) Ava had carrots tonight. She liked them too!

Santa Claus!
We went to visit Santa today! Ava was more interested in the candy cane Santa gave her than Santa himself!!

All bundled up
It was so cold today!! Rafael has been taking the jeep to work the last few days because of the snow so Ava and I have been staying home all day. I got anxious today. It's so hard for me to stay home all day because I get bored so easy so Ava and I went for a walk. I was worried about her getting cold so I bundled her up really good. When we got back she was passed out, so I'm pretty sure she was cozy!

Peas!
I have written about this before, but Ava doesn't poop very much. Ever since she was born it has only been about once a week. From what I've read, and what Ava's pediatrician says that is pretty normal for some babies. As of last Sunday she had gone 15 days without pooping!! Rafael and I were getting really worried about her. We called the hospital on Sunday morning and the on call nurse told us to go to the emergency room!!! We were SO freaked out! The doctor felt her stomach and said it felt soft which is good. They did some x-rays and said there was a lot of poop in there, it just needed to find it's way out. They told us to give her a teaspoon of Karo syrup. Two hours later, she pooped! YAY!! We called the gastroenterologist on Monday and got an appointment for today. That doctor suggested we continue the karo syrup daily, do baby suppositories once a week, AND...... start giving her vegetables!!!! Ava has never has anything but breast milk, so it was kinda fun! :) The Doc didn't think there was anything seriously wrong, but just thought we might need to regulate things and get her digestion working right. Here are some photos of her first veggies! She liked them!!

Busy weekend!
This weekend has been a busy one for us! Our company Christmas party was on Friday night. Grandma came to watch Ava and stay the night. It was the first time Rafael and I have left Ava with anyone, so it was kinda hard. We knew she was in good hands, so that helped! We did it with only two phone calls to check in, so we did better than I thought! It was really nice for Rafael and I to have some time together. The party was at a hotel. We left the party a little early and went down a few floors to one of the lobby's and just sat and hung out for awhile. It was so nice to be alone together! We missed Ava SO much though!
This morning Rafael had to work, so Mom and I went to the old furniture warehouse in Sumner. They had free pictures with Santa, so we got Ava all dressed up. When we got there the line was SO long! We waited for about an hour and barely moved, so we gave up. Ava was having fun in line watching all the people. It was so noisy and crowded, so she was entertained, but I couldn't stand the thought of waiting for 3 hours. Rafael and I are going to take Ava next weekend to one of the malls for pictures. We were hoping to get the photos free, but there is no way I wanted to wait that long!! We walked around the warehouse afterward and looked at things.
Ava rolled from her tummy to her back today! She mastered back to tummy last weekend. She is no longer stationary! It is time to start baby proofing!

Sleepy Angel
Ava has been so sleepy and lethargic today!!! I can't help but to think that it is from the vaccines. She's such a sweetheart, and it is so hard for me to leave her alone when she's sleeping because she looks so cute. I can't stop kissing her little face!

4 month check-up!
Ava had her 4 month appointment today! She weighed in at 14 pounds 2 ounces and 25 inches! The doctor said her growth was right on track. She had to get vaccines again, and I was SO nervous about it. She did very good!! She cried just during the shots and stopped right afterward! She is in a good mood tonight and doesn't have a fever. Her two month appointment was awful! I was so scared this time around, but it went great!!
Here she is with her little band aids. :(

Happy 4 month Birthday Ava!!!
Ava is 4 months today!! Mommy thinks Ava knows it is her birthday too, because ALL day Ava would not let Mommy out of her sight, even for a second! I think she knew it was her day to be extra spoiled! I put her in her bumbo chair next to me all day. She sat on the counter top in the bathroom while I did my hair, the kitchen counter top while I did the dishes, and the table while I ate lunch. She is so funny! As long as she could see me, she was ok. She has never really done that before, so it was kinda different today.
Ava hit another milestone today! She rolled over for the first time tonight! She has been so close for a long time, but has never been able to pull her arm out from underneath her.... she did tonight! These photos are actually of her second time rolling over... I didn't have the camera ready the first time. She was on the blue towel, but rolled right off of it!
The last two photos are just random ones of her eating her feet. She likes to be naked, so every time I change her diaper I try to give her a little time to be nakie. :)

Oops!
We went to get our Christmas tree last night! Unfortunately, they would not help us strap it to the roof of the car. Rafael and I spent about 20 minutes trying to secure the tree, but the twine they gave us was slippery and none of the knots would stay knotted. We drove away with Rafael holding one end of the twine inside the car. About half way home on the bridge in Puyallup, we heard a thud! The string in Rafael's hand moved. We looked out the back window and there was our tree!!!! Oops! Luckily there were no other cars around! We were laughing so hard, it was hilarious. We put it back on top of the jeep and I went about 20 mph the rest of the way. We finally made it home! The poor tree suffered very minor damage and is still beautiful! This is the first year we've had a car that we could put the tree on top. In the past, our tree was stuffed in the back of my Talon with half of it hanging out. That almost worked better than this!! We are going to decorate it tonight. I will post some pictures tomorrow!

Hello!! Daddy's magic touch!
We have chew toys for Ava but she prefers to chew on your fingers.... of course, we make sure our hands are clean. It entertains her for forever it seems!!

This blanket was made by my Grandma for my oldest sister when she was a baby. She passed away in 2000. Her husband gave it to Ava on Saturday! I know my sister would want us to make use of it, so rather than pack it away as a keepsake, I plan to use it. Hopefully it will become Ava's favorite blanky!
