Random stuff from the last 2 weeks
Wow, it is hard for me to find time to get to this blog!! I get so behind and then I avoid it because I am so behind! Ugh!
Everything is going great! Reese is making the cutest little sounds! It is really hard for me to resist the urge to squeeze her!!!!!! I googled that and found out that the urge to squeeze a baby is normal. The Filipino language even has a word for it...Gheegle. Isn't that funny?! She has been drooling a lot this last week! Soaking the entire top half of her shirts! I don't see any teeth, and she hasn't been fussy. Just drooling.
Reese also had her 2 month check-up! We took her to a new doctor. We wanted a second opinion on her umbilical hernia. We got the same information from the second doctor. That it is not a big deal and will go away by the time she is 1. If for some reason it doesn't go away by that time, we can opt to have a little surgery to fix it. It is a very minor surgery with just a local anesthetic. Hopefully we wont need to do that. She got a clean bill of health aside from her hernia! She weighed in at 13.5 lbs! and 23 inches long! She is 50th percentile for height, and 95th for weight!! Haha! She is a little chunk. The doc said she is just a baby who likes her chow. lol. She eats really really good, and often! I love how chubby and round she is. She is so cute!!!!!
Ava is doing really good. I feel like she is changing just as fast as Reese. It is so funny for me to look back on posts about Ava a few months ago and how much she has changed since then! She is becoming such a little girl now. She understands everything. She is listening so much better. A lot of time when I tell her to stop doing something she will say "ok". WOW! Of course, she is 2 and a half and has her meltdown moments too.
The other day she asked to get out her letter puzzle. I told her to wait until after dinner. When I finished dinner she said "You all done with dinner Mommy"? I said "yes" and she said "Me play with letters now"? She waited so patiently! I had totally forgotten at that point, but she remembered what I said! She is so smart. It is so fun to see her changing and growing so much, but sad too! Part of me wants to freeze her the way she is now!
I feel like Ava looks so grown up in these pictures!!

Reese is coo'ing like crazy. I love it!!

Check out that drool!!

More drool!

Standing! Reese has been able to bear weight on her legs since she was born. She is strong! If you hold her upright, she can hold up all her weight! Look at her cute little hernia too. Hehe. It looks bad, but we have been to two different doctors now that both say it is not a thing to worry about and will go away. Rafael and I have gotten used to it, and I think it is kinda cute. :)
Reese's first owee. Mommy let Reese's fingernails get too long. :(
We met my friends Lyndsey and Emily and their two boys at the mall last week. It was really exciting and they got to play at the climbing play space at the mall, and then we ate at Rain forest cafe. Ava was exhausted and fell asleep on the way home. I thought she looked so sweet. My little angel!

Reese trying to roll over!! She is getting close. It is just that arm in the way!

Elmo is back!!
Elmo made a comeback! Rafael and I started putting toys away and cycling them out. It makes them really exciting again when she hasn't seen them for 6 months! Ava spent about 3 days playing with Elmo almost all day! Reese liked him too... well she thought he was a little weird. She stared at him talk for a long time with her eye brows wrinkled. I wish I knew what she was thinking!! :)

Egg hunt at home!
Despite the rain we had on Easter Sunday, we decided to have an egg hunt in our backyard anyway! It was a quick one though. The rain started coming down really hard at the end!
Looking for eggs right before she went outside!

Wet hair! It started to rain really hard at the end, so we hurried and came inside.
This was Ava when she realized that she didn't see the Easter bunny while she was outside. She really thought that she would see him since he laid all those eggs in her backyard. :( She was pretty disappointed.
Checkin out the goods!
Egg hunt at Grandma's house!
Ava had an Easter egg hunt at Grandma's house the day before Easter. She had so much fun! All her cousins are quite a bit older than her, so it was just Ava hunting for eggs. She had lots of help and encouragement from her cousins! They were all so cute telling her where to go to find another egg. Ava has been pretending to hunt for eggs ever since. She will use her horses, dolls, trains, whatever she has her hands on and make them hunt around the house for eggs. She has quite the imagination!
My Mom made a great Easter dinner and we got to spend some time with my sister and brothers. We had a great time! Thank you Momma!
