Cannon Beach!

We had so much fun in Cannon Beach!! As soon as we got there, we went straight to the beach! Ava headed right for the water. It was pretty cold, but it didn't seem to stop her. She had fun running in and waiting for the next big wave to come so she could run away from it. We spent some time jumping over the waves. She thought that was the funniest thing. She was laughing so hard I had to pick her up and help her jump.

She wouldn't touch the sand with her hands. She is such a girl!

She really liked all the puppies at the beach. We spent a lot of time chasing her running after puppies.

We got a kite before we left and could not get it to fly!! Apparently we need lessons. I don't think I have ever flown a kite in my life, so I wasn't much help.

On the second day when the tide was low, we could walk all the way up to castle rock! We got to see all the creatures, and even touch some of them!

Every time we went back to the hotel room she would say "Wanna go beach!" over and over again. She loved it!

Ava slept in the bed with us at the hotel. The first night was rough. She was awake half the night. Every time my pregnant bladder would get me out of bed, she would wake up and get upset that Mommy was walking away. The second night was MUCH better. She slept all night! She doesn't usually sleep in the bed with us, so it was a change for her!

This is where Ava spent all her time in the hotel room.

Day #2! Ready to go!

I took some of my friend Heidi's ashes with us. There is a tiny little me in the back right of this picture scattering them in the ocean. I miss you Heidi!

Off to Cannon Beach!

We will leave you with this.... :)

Updates!

Hi!!
Sorry it has been over a week since our last post! Ava and I have been sick with a cold all week! I think I got it worse than Ava. There were 3 nights in a row that I could not sleep. It was awful!! I think I got a taste of what insomnia must be like. I don't know how people deal with that disorder. I was SO exhausted, but could not sleep. I seriously thought I was going crazy! On the third day Rafael called me while he was at work and I started balling!! I cried for an hour!! Poor Ava kept saying "Mommy sad". She sat on my lap and patted my arm. She is so sweet!! I just love how much comfort she brings me, even though she is only 2.

We are doing much better now. On the fourth night I actually slept. I woke up once in the middle of the night and was SO excited when I looked at the clock and realized I had been asleep for 3 hours!! I woke up Rafael to tell him, I was so happy! Poor guy.

We took Ava to the doctor on Saturday just to make sure she didn't develop an ear infection. We are going out of town to Cannon Beach tomorrow, so we wanted to make sure she would be healthy for the trip. The doc said she looked good. She had a little fever today, but it went away on it's own, so I am praying it wont come back while we are gone!

Ava updates... She can say her entire ABC's now!! :) She is so smart. She is also getting really good at knowing her colors. I love the way she says them. Blue is Bee-loo. Black is Bee-lack. Orange is O-dange. O-dange seems to be her favorite color right now. She is so much fun to talk to. She understands just about everything you say... in fact, Mommy and Daddy's secret language of spelling P A R K and B A T H doesn't work anymore because she knows what you are spelling.

I decided that I am going to give the potty training thing a go again after her birthday this week. She will be 2 on Friday!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. :(

Coloring. I love how her legs are crossed!

Right here Ava is saying "O-dange" (Orange).

Rockin out!

Sometimes I catch Ava sitting quietly looking at a book. I love it when she does this!

Some pictures :)

My beautiful girl.

Ava's new jammies. We bought them for you Uncle Cade. :)

It was beautiful today! Ava's kittie pool turned in to a family pool. :)

The beach!!

We went to the beach on Wednesday with my sister and her kids! It was Ava's first visit to the beach! She had SO much fun! She had no fear of the water at all. She went straight to it as soon as we got there. She didn't seem to be scared about going deep either! I had to run and grab her a few times because she kept walking in too far!
