MC Hammer Time!

Check out these pants!  Can you believe these are 3 months pants?  Yes, she is only 3 weeks old, but they are huge!  We gave her a bath and put a t-shirt on her.  I was worried her legs would be cold, so these were the smallest pants I could find.

Ok, so I know I have a TON of photo's of Ava sleeping, but she is so cute and tiny.  I can't help myself! :)

Tomorrow we're going to Babies R' us!  Ooooh noo!  I am going to try and get only the things we need, but I know it will be hard.  I want to get Ava a cute outfit that she can wear right now.  She only has one that kinda fits.  Other than that she's just wearing onesies.  All of her newborn clothes are still too big!

On Saturday I'm going to Mom's for my brother's birthday party.  Rafael, Ro and his Dad are driving to eastern WA to see Rafael's dad's sister.  They haven't seen each other in 40 years!  It would be fun to go with them, but I didn't think seven hours in the car all one day was good for Ava.  The car seat is kinda restricting, not to mention I can't take her out and hold her if she cries while the car's moving.... :(

I saw her mouth and totally thought of myself.  Not that I can see myself when I sleep, but I know how I must look....just not quite as cute!

Grandma's shoes

These photo's are from when Ava was one week old.  The booties she's wearing were my Mom's when she was a baby!  They are so tiny and sweet!  It's so special that Grandma kept these! They will be passed down again and again!  Here is Ava wearing Grandma's shoes! :)

Grandpa and Uncle Ro!

Yesterday Rafael's Dad and brother came to visit from California.  They've been enjoying spending time with their new niece and granddaughter!  It was Uncle Ro's first time ever to hold a baby!!  This is Grandpa's first grand baby!  We've been having fun.  They're here until next Sunday, so I will post more photo's this week!

Ava's hands!

Ava always has this thing going with her hands!!  When we swaddle her, she spends about 10 minutes grunting trying to get her hands out of her straight jacket!  She always has her hands on her head, her face, or stuck straight up somehow!  It is so funny!  In the ultrasounds we had it was the same thing. She always had her hands up!

Ava's first bath!!

We gave Ava her first bath today!!  She has had many many sponge bath's, but we couldn't give her a real bath until her umbilical cord came off.  She LOVED it!! It was so cute!!!

Our friends Lindsey and Jonathan came over tonight to visit Ava and take some family photos!!  It was so mcuh fun, and we can't wait to see the photos they took!  They are so good at what they do, and gave us all the direction on how to pose and hold her for the shots so I am sure we will get some really good ones!!They are such a cute family and their little boy is quite a handful! I got a taste of what Rafael and I are in for in about a year!!

Ava's belly button!!

YAY!! Ava's umbilical cord came off today!  I have been so excited to kiss her cute little belly button, and now I finally can! :)

Ava has become so much more alert the last few days!  Today she opened her eyes wider than I have seen so far!  She is so cute and has her Daddy's beautiful brown eyes.  It was so hot yesterday and today. I called the nurse and she told me to take everything off Ava except her diaper.  She also told me to give her some water!  Ava took a bottle with water in it with no problem!!  I was worried that she wouldn't like the taste at first, but she did very well!!

Ava does this thing when she poops... (sorry, I have to share).  She puckers her little lips and flares her nostrils!  It is so adorable!!!

Happy 1 week Birthday Ava!!

Last night we celebrated Ava's 1 week Birthday!  She can't eat the cookie, but Mommy ate it, so she will get a taste of it somehow!! :)

Ava's first outing!

Today was Ava's first day out of the house!  She had her first check-up with the pediatrician, and then we went to target to get a few things.  The pediatrician said everything looked great!  He said she had a little bit of jaundice (yellow skin), but that should go away within the next few days.  She has gained 5 ounces!!  She now weighs 7 lbs 3 ounces!!  That was great news for us, because everyone had told us to expect that she would lose about a pound in the beginning!  Everything else looked great.  We really like the doctor.  He spent a lot of time with us and answered all of our questions.
Ava was so good!!  She slept through most of the trip.  By the time we got home she was so passed out that her arms were down at her sides!!  It was so cute!  I think the car ride really relaxed her.
